Who We Are

Welcome to Black Women On Wheels (BWOW), the cycling crew where Black girl magic meets two-wheeled adventures. We're not your average cycling club – we're a sisterhood built on laughter, joy, and the freedom of the open road.

About Our Rides

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to get more Black women on bikes and having a blast while doing it! We're here to break down barriers, address the unique challenges we face as Black women cyclists, and create a space where we can thrive together on two wheels. Let's ride!

Our History

BWOW was born in April 2021 when Karen organised a ride in Hyde Park exclusively for Black women. Only two other riders, Faith and Shay, came along and had an absolute blast. After that ride, Karen asked them “Do you want to run this club with me?”. The answer was “Yesssss”, and the rest is history. Since then, BWOW has grown from a team of three enthusiastic women to this incredible movement that we have today. Since 2022, we have been called Black Women On Wheels (BWOW), but we were previously known as Black Girls Do Bike London.
